BANDA ACEH, BBG NEWS – The groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of Student Dormitories (Rusunawa) at UBBG was a Success. The event took place at the UBBG Campus Rusunawa Construction Project area in Banda Aceh on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Member of Commission V, PKB Faction, DPR RI, H. Irmawan, S.Sos, M.M, expressed his commitment to continue the development of the student dormitories he initiated at the UBBG campus. He hoped that his fellow colleagues from Aceh in the DPR RI would allocate aspiration funds to build facilities that would contribute positively to the progress of education in Aceh. With good facilities and infrastructure, it will be possible to produce highly skilled individuals in Aceh. He also encouraged UBBG to construct a Campus B in that location so that the dormitory would not be isolated. His hope is that the construction of the dormitory proceeds smoothly and on schedule so that it can be used by students as soon as possible.
“Give us the space to oversee this. We don’t want a subpar result. Almost all dormitory projects get canceled halfway. We don’t want this building to be canceled halfway either. Let’s monitor it to ensure quality and timely completion,” he concluded.
The Head of the Sumatra I Housing Provision Implementation Office, represented by Mai Boy Gusrial, S.T., hoped that the construction of the building would be executed well and completed on time. He urged the contractors to maintain conditions on the site and ensure that the work is closely supervised, resulting in a high-quality building that can be well-utilized.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Getsempena Education Foundation, Ir. H. Hidayatullah Daud, M.T., welcomed the construction of the dormtory. In his speech, he mentioned that the number of UBBG students has been rapidly increasing over the years, reaching over 6,000 now. It is essential to provide suitable and affordable housing options in terms of both cost and proximity to the campus. UBBG rightfully needs student dormitories. This initiative received positive feedback from Mr. H. Irmawan, S.Sos., M.M., Member of Commission V, PKB Faction, DPR RI, who expressed his willingness to allocate aspiration funds for the construction of the dormitory. He extended his gratitude to Mr. H. Irmawan, S.Sos., M.M., acknowledging this as a highly beneficial step in supporting the nation’s future generations. He added that, apart from the Rusunawa, a 6-story UBBG Campus B building will also be constructed, becoming one of the largest and most magnificent campus buildings in Aceh.
The event concluded with the first stone being laid by Mr. H. Irmawan, S.Sos, M.M., Member of Commission V, PKB Faction, DPR RI, Mai Boy Gusrial, S.T., representing the Head of the Sumatra I Housing Provision Implementation Office, and Ir. H. Hidayatullah Daud, M.T., Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Getsempena Education Foundation. It was witnessed by Ketua Yayasan Muttaqien, S.T., M.Si., UBBG’s leadership and faculty members, and the team from the Sumatra I Housing Provision Implementation Office.
